Text-to-speech software are programmes that convert typed text into spoken words using artificial voices. Many of the packages can convert printed text into electronic documents by using Occular Character Recognition (OCR) programmes. Most programmes will read from MSWord, PDF, and the internet.

TextHELP Read&Write has been around for many years. It provides a wide range of additional functions as well as reading text from various electronic formats including; Microsoft Word, PDF, and the internet.

Dolphin SaySo is a relatively new product on the market. It does not have all the tools available in some other software packages but is simple to use.
