Sue Jacobs

Head of Development & Alumni Relations

Sue oversees the Development & Alumni Relations team and is responsible for the implementation and development of the alumni relations and development strategy, along with managing the relationship with our Honorary Award holders. She is also responsible for the organisation and running of graduation ceremonies. Sue is a postgraduate alumna of Anglia Ruskin University.

David joined us in July 2012 and looks after alumni from our Lord Ashcroft International Business School, Faculty of Science & Technology, Cambridge School of Art, Humanities & Social Sciences and English, Communication, Film & Media. He is also responsible for our Honorary Award holders.

Sharon Wuyts - Alumni and Development Officer

Sharon is currently on maternity leave and will be returning mid-April

Sharon looks after alumni from the Faculty of Health, Social Care & Education and also the Anglia Law School and the Department of Music & Performing Arts within the Faculty of Arts, Law & Social Sciences. She also looks after all our international alumni, our International Alumni Ambassadors, your benefits and services package and the e-newsletter. Sharon is also the main contact for our alumni relations work with current students and our social networking.

Nathan Sexton - Information Officer

Nathan started with us in September 2010. He is responsible for the management and development of our alumni database which keeps all your contact details. We are now in contact with over 67,000 of our graduates, with the number growing all the time, so Nathan's work keeping the database accurate is essential. He deals with your alumni enquiries and address updates and also works with colleagues across Anglia Ruskin to provide mailing lists.

Our database also underpins our fundraising activity so Nathan also works closely with our Development Managers.

Thomas Kay - Development Manager

Tom joined the team in July 2011. Having previously worked for a charity, his particular area of expertise is raising funds from trusts, foundations and corporate contacts. Tom works closely with colleagues in our faculties to identify opportunities and needs for funding and also works on our Alumni Scholarship.

He is the main contact for our fundraising work with current students and the Students Union.

Claire Shearer - Development Manager
Claire is currently on maternity leave and will return in January 2014

Claire joined us from the NSPCC in January 2010 and now works part-time, Monday to Wednesday. She is responsible for raising funds from mid-level and major donors and supplying reports to senior managers to allow them to make approaches to individuals who may wish to support Anglia Ruskin.

Erin Butcher - Annual Fund Manager

Erin joined us in September 2009 and originally worked on the Alumni team, also looking after our Honorary Award holders. She has now moved to our Development team and looks after all our activities related to fundraising from alumni, including our annual telephone campaign.

Rob Walker - Research Officer

Rob is the newest member of our team, having joined us in January 2013. He is supporting the development team by researching individuals, trusts and companies that might be interested in supporting the work that we do and supplying reports which allow the Development Managers to plan approaches.

Graduation ceremonies

June Petrie - Graduation Co-ordinator

June has been with Anglia Ruskin for many years but only moved into the Development & Alumni Relations team in early 2011. She is responsible for the development, planning and management of our graduation ceremonies in Cambridge and Chelmsford. She liaises with a wide range of people both internally and externally to ensure successful graduation ceremonies are delivered, ensuring a celebratory experience is enjoyed by our graduating students.

Nicola joined our team in August 2010, moving across from the Outreach and Recruitment team. She brings with her experience of managing our large open days and works closely with June on graduation ceremonies and also on a wide range of events put on by the Development & Alumni Relations and Corporate Communications teams.
