Breaking News - 21st Anniversary Celebrations for Anglia Ruskin University!

2013 marks 21 years since Anglia Ruskin gained university status. We are delighted to announce that all Anglia Ruskin alumni are invited to return to celebrate our 'coming of age' at free events on the Chelmsford and Cambridge campuses.

The Cambridge campus celebration has already taken place on Saturday May 11th 2013, while the Chelmsford celebration will be held on Saturday June 15th 2013.

Both celebrations will take place between 11.00am and 2.30pm, with a different well known alumni speaker for each campus.

Chelmsford - Our Chancellor, Lord Ashcroft KCMG PC, will be speaking in Chelmsford on his passion for the Victoria Cross. He will talk about the roots of his early interest in bravery, how he built his VC collection and some examples of VC recipients. He will also reflect on cold courage versus spur of the moment bravery.

Cambridge - A wonderful day was enjoyed by over 250 people who toured the campus, ate lunch to the music of a jazz trio and listened to an update on how their university has changed given by our Vice Chancellor, Professor Michael Thorne. Nick Crane (BBC's Great British Journeys, Town and Coast) then gave an entertaining talk on his work, how this developed from his childhood love of exploration with just a bike and an Ordnance Survey map and his love of adventure, including sleeping in ditches!.

We want to see as many of you as possible get involved in some good old-fashioned nostalgia, whether it has been one year since you were here or rather more than you would care to remember! With that in mind, please contact your old friends and classmates to make sure they come as well. It's the perfect opportunity to get back in touch, to see what's changed (or not!) and get together to relive those memories. Friends and family are also welcome, so take the chance to show them where you studied.

You are part of a worldwide community of over 67,000 active past students of Anglia Ruskin University and its prior institutions. We count many successful and famous people among our alumni - Nick Crane (Coast and Map Man), Roger Law and Peter Fluck (Spitting Image), Edward Bawden (artist & illustrator), Ronald Searle (illustrator and originator of St Trinians), Dave Gilmour (Pink Floyd) and Kim Howells (Government Minister) to name but a few!

So please do explore the pages on this website to see the wide range of services and benefits you can access as part of our alumni community.
