Description

A one-day meeting for anaesthetists, intensivists and allied healthcare professionals with an interest in reconstructive anaesthesia and burns critical care.

The Association of Burns and Reconstructive Anaesthetists Annual Meeting 2015 continues the Postgraduate Medical Institute’s tradition of presenting topics that are practical and relevant to all anaesthetists and allied professions in the region.

Provisional programme:

  • Regional Anaesthesia for Breast Surgery
  • Post-Op Analgesia Options for Upper Limb Surgery
  • The Role of Albumen in Burns
  • Simulation Training in a Burns ITU

Lunch may include a presentation on brewing and beer tasting by a local microbrewery

Russell Davies & Stuart Laird Prize:

CALL FOR ABSTRACTS NOW OPEN

The annual Russell Davies & Stuart Laird Prize of £250 is offered for a paper submitted by a Trainee to the Association of Burns & Reconstructive Anaesthetists, connected with both anaesthesia and plastic surgery or burns.

To qualify, the presenter must submit an abstract to the ABRA meeting abstract committee. The committee will invite selected papers for oral presentation at the ABRA Annual Meeting. After the presentation, authors are free to publish their work in any journal of their choice.

The presenter will be expected to have played a major part in any study, clinical or experimental, reported, but participation by others is not prohibited. Credit is given for originality, style in presentation, and personal conduct of the study.

Abstracts should be submitted by e-mail only to: rebecca.martin@meht.nhs.uk.

Closing date for abstract submission: midnight, Sunday 25 October 2015

Abstract submissions should be limited to 500 words and should conform to the following formatting:

  • Introduction and aims
  • Methods
  • Results
  • Conclusion

Microsoft Word for Windows is the preferred word-processing package and a single figure or table may be included. Abstracts will be reviewed by the conference abstracts committee and the review process will result in the abstract being accepted or rejected on the basis of quality. Authors will be informed by e-mail. Presentations will be either as a short oral presentation or poster format, details of which will advised after acceptance. The presenting author of an accepted abstract must register for the conference to be eligible.
