Part One - Debriefing skills for simulation

Skilled debriefing is central to the learning experience in simulation-based medical education. This intensive one-day course teaches the knowledge, skills and techniques necessary to facilitate a constructive debrief. Featuring:

  • educational theory
  • a system of debriefing
  • educational objectives
  • educational feedback
  • communication
  • problems in debrief.

As with all the courses we run at the Postgraduate Medical Institute Simulation Centre, T3 Part One is a practical course with plenty of time for hands on debriefing experience.

This course is part one of a two-part programme (see below).

Course Director: Professor John Kinnear (Professor of Medical Education Anglia Ruskin University; Director, PMI Simulation Centre; and Consultant Anaesthetist, Southend Hospital).

Part Two - Delivering effective simulation

Effective simulation requires expertise. This intensive one-day course teaches the knowledge, skills and techniques necessary to deliver a simulation-based course. Featuring:

  • scenario planning and writing
  • mannequin operation
  • audiovisual operation
  • scenarios in action
  • running a simulation-based course
  • managing a simulation facility.

As with all the courses we run at the Postgraduate Medical Institute Simulation Centre, T3 Part Two is a practical course with plenty of time for hands on experience at writing and running simulation scenarios.

This course is part two of a two-part programme (see above).
