The Vice Chancellor of Anglia Ruskin University will conduct an evening concert to raise funds for Farleigh Hospice.

Professor Michael Thorne will conduct Haydn’s London Symphony and Trumpet Concerto, Schubert’s Symphony No 5 and Prokofiev’s Classical Symphony during the event at Chelmsford Cathedral.

Professor Thorne said:

“It is a privilege for Anglia Ruskin University to be hosting this concert at Chelmsford Cathedral, a wonderful setting. We are proud to be part of the city of Chelmsford and want to see as many of the local community in attendance as possible.
“Our Chelmsford-based Health and Social Care students take up placements with Farleigh Hospice as part of their studies. The hospice provides vital support when people have been diagnosed with a life-changing illness. It’s staff provide compassionate care and support for people with palliative, long-term and end of life needs and we are proud that our students form part of this care.”

The concert will begin at 7.30pm on Saturday 13 December. There will be a retiring collection for the Chelmsford-based hospice. Tickets cost £10 (£6 concessions) and include interval refreshments. They can be bought by calling 01223 352932, visiting www.anglia.ac.uk/mumfordtheatre or on the door.
