Local produce on sale at new Chelmsford street market every week

Anglia Ruskin University will host a new weekly street market selling everything from vintage clothing to fresh food, treats and goodies.

The ARU Street Market will take place every Tuesday from 17 February, from 10.30am until 3.30pm outside the Lord Ashcroft Building on the Chelmsford campus.

There will be stalls selling vintage clothing, fresh fruit and vegetables, bread, cakes and hot, free-range steak and veggie ‘Huffer’ sandwiches – ideal for the lunch break.

The market is open to members of the public as well as Anglia Ruskin students and staff.

Rachel Moss, Community Engagement Officer at Anglia Ruskin, said:

“We’re very excited about our new street market, which will offer something a bit different in Chelmsford for residents and for our students.

“There has been a real surge in demand for locally produced, quality food and goods in recent years and we are happy to be able to work with stallholders to give people this option as part of our ongoing commitment to the city.”
