Potential students can save unnecessary groundwork when they find out about degree opportunities across the UK

Anglia Ruskin University is preparing to welcome around 7000 potential university students and representatives from over 120 universities and other organisations to Chelmsford on 26 and 27 June. The Higher Education Superfair, run in partnership with Essex County Council’s Connexions service, provides an opportunity for year 12 students in schools and colleges, as well as people from all over Essex to discover the opportunities for university study available across the country.

The event at Anglia Ruskin University’s Rivermead Campus (off Hoffmanns Way), will provide a temporary home for the various course advisers from universities from across the UK. Over two days visitors will be able to:

  • talk with representatives from universities and colleges across the country and collect prospectuses and leaflets on courses
  • find out more about the courses by listening to around 30 specialist speakers from universities, colleges and the wider world
  • get advice on applying for courses, financing studies and other important topic areas.

Janet North, Anglia Ruskin University’s External Liaison Manager, and one of the main organisers of Superfair, believes this is the definitive event for those considering higher education.

"Anglia Ruskin University is just one of over 100 universities looking to place students on courses that will suit their personal development and career needs."

"This event puts every potential student in touch with the universities on their wish lists, and it is this direct contact that will help individuals to decide which one is right for them. A visit to the Superfair will give young people from Essex all the information they will need to start the process of entering into higher education, which is essentially the springboard into an improved career."

"For anyone considering coming along, my advice would be to make sure you do.  Just one visit could save you a lot of unnecessary groundwork, and what you will discover is guaranteed to tempt you to make your move."

The Mayor and Mayoress of Chelmsford Councillor Tom and Mrs Jane  Willis will be among a number of local representatives visiting the event, demonstrating Anglia Ruskin University’s importance to the life of Chelmsford.

Everyone is welcome to attend the fair, which opens Thursday, 26 June from 9.30am to 2.30pm and Friday 27 June, from 9.30am to 12.30pm. For more information please call Anglia Ruskin University’s Contact Centre on 0845 271 3333.
