The forthcoming Open Day on Saturday 13 October will allow potential students of all ages and backgrounds to find out more about undergraduate study.

Members of the University’s teaching and administrative staff will be offering individuals information to help them make informed decisions about study options, including details about the various programme start dates. The Faculties involved in the Open Day include Arts, Law and Social Sciences, Science & Technology, the Ashcroft International Business School, Education and the Faculty of Health and Social Care which boasts the most recent building to be opened on campus.

Professor David Humber, Executive Dean of the Faculty of Health and Social Care said:

“Our new £8m Health and Social Care building was opened to students in September 2007. This state-of-the-art-building will benefit all students and ensure that newly qualified professionals are work-ready from their first day of employment. These new and ultra-modern facilities will give students vital hands-on experience in simulated clinical environments.”

“People interested in a wide variety of disciplines from nursing to social work, midwifery to counselling should come along on the Open Day to get a true feel for the work and to get an insight into the environment in which they could be studying.”

Anglia Ruskin University will be welcoming potential students, who are considering higher education or career development opportunities, and their families during the forthcoming Open Day.  For many, it will be their first insight into university life.

Anglia Ruskin University Open Days generally attract 800-1000 prospective students to the campus plus members of their family and friends. There are four Open Days staged during the year.  Each one is a key recruitment day for the University.

Those interested in attending one of the Open Days can pre-register online at or call 0845 271 3333 for more details on which courses are offered on which campus.

There will be tours of the new building including the demonstration wards at 11am and 1.30pm on the day.
