Anglia Ruskin University has received its highest ever student satisfaction rating in the annual National Student Survey. Overall satisfaction has increased to 86%, while Anglia Ruskin is rated among the best in the country for assessment and feedback.

The National Student Survey has run for the past 11 years and provides each Higher Education Institution (HEI) with data on each course and allows it to compare with other institutions. The results are based on the responses of almost half a million third-year students studying at 155 UK institutions.

Of the 4,014 Anglia Ruskin students eligible to take the survey, 3,061 (76%) responded. 91% agreed that staff are enthusiastic about what they are teaching, and 92% said lecturers are good at explaining things – rating us highly for the third successive year.

The data is split into six question groups, of which Anglia Ruskin scored particularly highly on assessment and feedback, 6% higher than the sector average for satisfaction.

Professor Roderick Watkins, Deputy Vice Chancellor at Anglia Ruskin University, said:

“Anglia Ruskin is on a continual course to improve our students’ satisfaction year-on-year and we are very pleased with the NSS results again. It shows that our efforts in teaching excellence and recruiting the best lecturers is making a real difference to the student experience.

“This is reflected in an increase in applications for a place at Anglia Ruskin University for the eighth successive year. It’s a great place to work and study and it’s clear that when we value our people and take pride in our students, everyone feels the direct impact of a thriving university community.”
