Dave Sexton wins ‘Accountancy Personality of the Year’

Dave Sexton, Head of Accounting and Information Systems at Anglia Ruskin University’s Ashcroft International Business School (AIBS), has beaten top competition to be awarded a prestigious accountancy magazine’s ‘Accountancy Personality of the Year’ award.

At the recent PQ Magazine’s Award Ceremony in London he was presented with the prestigious title and prize by Shaun Williamson from EastEnders, Extras and Comic Relief does Fame Academy.

Dave was given the award for his ongoing dedication and commitment to his students as a lecturer and his proactive work on behalf of students within the professional accountancy community. Further evidence of his achievements was exhibited at the award ceremony, where he also received some reflected glory when the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy CIPFA - the leading accountancy body for the public services providing education and training - National Student Forum, which Dave was instrumental in forming and mentored through their development, won the Student Body of the Year prize.

PQ Magazine (part-qualified) is the biggest national magazine for accountancy students which covers all professional accounting bodies including CIPFA, ACCA, CIMA, ICA, ICAS as well as AAT and CAT.

The Ashcroft International Business School has 110 academic and support staff and 4200 students including undergraduates, postgraduate and professional students of which 3000 study in the UK. Around 30% of AIBS students are international.
