Anglia Ruskin University’s free online start-up business training is proving to be a valuable support for aspiring new business owners.

Anglia Business Class guides budding entrepreneurs through the important ‘business side’ of running a business, from planning and starting the business, to running and growing it.

Wiebke Wagner of Dreamliner Golf UK Ltd started the online programme in April 2010, she said:

"I started a business to distribute an innovative new golf putter, designed by my brother, a golf professional and his business partner, an industrial designer who owns more than 100 patents worldwide. I started trading in April 2010 though I still work full-time in sales for a local company. I’ve always worked in sales, this opportunity came my way and I want to be my own boss and do it my way."

The online programme is flexible, fitting around childcare, work and study commitments, Wiebke said:

"It’s brilliant. The downloadable materials are really easy to understand and I enjoyed reading through the modules. It is an investment in time but I think it’s worth it."

Anglia Ruskin University’s Survive & Thrive programme is funding places on Anglia Business Class until 17 December 2010, so it is free to anyone who wants help to get their new business off to the best possible start. No prior business knowledge is required and anyone living in the East of England can participate.
