Free talk on Anglia Ruskin’s Chelmsford campus to examine how assets are priced

Untitled PageTwo leading financial experts will discuss asset valuation, the processes behind it and the impact it can have, during a free public talk at Anglia Ruskin University in Chelmsford on Tuesday, 12 April (6.30pm).

Dr Jerome Booth, Chairman of New Sparta and previously Head of Research at Ashmore Group, and Andrew Strickland, Member of the Valuation Committee of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, will share their views on the key issues relating to share valuation.

Jerome, who is also the Chair of Anglia Ruskin’s Board of Governors, will focus on the current macro-economic climate and the impact on asset pricing, while Andrew will examine the efficiency of the pricing mechanisms in liquid stock markets.

Professor Gary Packham, Dean of Anglia Ruskin’s Lord Ashcroft International Business School, said:

“Some claim that the incredible levels of stimulus from central banks over recent years have distorted the efficiency of how assets are priced.

“Whether you are a manager making key investment decisions that will affect your company in the future, or a private investor deciding how to allocate your hard-earned savings, it is vital to have an understanding of the current investment environment and what the future might hold.”

The free event, titled The Importance of True Value, is being held in conjunction with leading East of England financial services company Scrutton Bland, and begins at 6.30pm with refreshments.  Anyone wishing to attend should email diane.goddard@anglia.ac.uk.
