Anglia Ruskin University is to host several exciting events during the Cambridge Festival of Ideas, which launches on Monday and runs for two weeks.

The Festival, which is organised by the University of Cambridge, will run from Monday, 19 October until Sunday, 1 November and aims to capture the imagination of the public with debates, workshops, talks, exhibitions and performances around the themes of power and resistance.

Anglia Ruskin is a sponsor of the Festival and will host more than 30 separate events. Anglia Ruskin will host the Festival hub day on Saturday, 31 October when the East Road campus will be the focus of activity throughout the day.

You can visit the East Road campus to attend events on subjects ranging from how science can help people become effective parents; to how to defy a ruler; to consumerism to identity. You can take part in the Great British Dialects Quiz and find out how the English language survived the Norman invasion in 1066. There will be art exhibitions, poetry workshops, films and performances to enjoy.

Miriam Berg, Community Engagement Officer for Anglia Ruskin University, said:

"Whatever your passion or interests, there will be something for you at the Cambridge Festival of Ideas. We are looking forward to welcoming researchers, artists and groups to provide a wide range of ideas and events celebrating the arts, humanities and social sciences.
"We at Anglia Ruskin are proud to continue our long association with the Cambridge Festival of Ideas and we are looking forward to seeing lots of people coming to our campus and enjoying the events."
