The founder of speckyfoureyes.com walks away with business prize.
An award has been presented to an alumnus of Anglia Ruskin University’s Faculty of Science and Technology in recognition of his outstanding business success following his graduation in 2005.
Andre Senyk, who left the university with a BSc Honours degree in Optical Management, began working for a High Street optical store but always knew that he didn’t want to follow the crowd – instead he wanted to run his own business to compete with the major optical retailers.
This drove and inspired him to create his own company SpeckyFourEyes.com, providing online prescription glasses and contact lenses.
At just 25 years old Andre has progressed from student to the MD of a business that has taken the world of optometry and optical retail by storm. The spectacular success of his company led him to being named as a regional finalist in the Shell Livewire Young Entrepreneur of the Year awards in 2007. He has also recently been short listed for the Eye4Enterprize Award 2007.
His drive for success and developing his business further is inspirational and the reason why he was judged the winner of this year’s Anglia Ruskin University Success in Business Award, sponsored by the Kingsview Group.
The Success in Business 2007 award offers graduates the chance of public recognition and celebration for those who have been particularly successful in their fields or professions, especially where their study at Anglia Ruskin University has contributed to their success.
