Richard is Senior Paramedic who specialised in Hazardous Area Response. Richard joined the team at Anglia Ruskin University in October 2015.

Having graduated from The University of Hull with a BA (Hons) in Politics Richard joined the NHS Ambulance Service in 2009. After qualifying as an Emergency Medical Technician, Richard gained experience crewing Double Staffed Ambulances and Rapid Response Vehicles attending all nature of 999 calls. Through qualification as a Paramedic Richard achieved a Certificate of Higher Education in Emergency Medical Care through the University of East Anglia.

During his career in the NHS Ambulance Service Richard had a keen interest in Resilience & Specialist Operations. Richard expanded his experience in this field by training and becoming part of the Specialist Operations Response Team (SORT) and then moving onto the Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) where he has worked for the past two and a half years.

During his time on HART Richard has gained qualifications, experience and expertise in CBRN, HazMat, Major Incidents, Mass Casualty Incidents, Water Rescue, Confined Space Rescue & Rescue at Height.
