Chris is an experienced senior paramedic who undertakes his role as a Clinical Skills Tutor whilst maintaining his clinical practice in a frontline operational capacity for the East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust.

Background

Chris joined the Ambulance Service in 2003 and has enjoyed a variety of operational roles throughout his career. He is currently heavily involved in supporting NHS staff through educational events and mentorship and is keen to develop the use of clinical simulation to enhance the safety and quality of out-of-hospital education.

Having attained his BSc (Hons) in Prehospital Emergency Care, Chris now teaches clinical skills on all Paramedic Science programmes at Anglia Ruskin University and has a special interest in the diverse areas of cardiac care, expedition medicine, sepsis and effective communication in emergency care.

Research interests

  • The use of diagnostic tools to aid prehospital screening of sepsis
  • Communication techniques for high stress environments
