Ant is an Advanced Paramedic with a specialist knowledge in primary care, urgent care and education.


Ant has expertise across clinical care, management, education and academia. His last role prior to commencing as a Senior Lecturer was as an Associate Director of Nursing, Quality & Clinical Care for NHS Urgent Care. Other previous roles include as a General Manager for Out of Hours Urgent Care, as a Regional Manager of a large healthcare charity, as a Specialist Paramedic in General Practice, as a Specialist Paramedic in Out of Hours Urgent Care and a Specialist Paramedic in Emergency Care Practice. Prior to becoming a Specialist Paramedic and manager, Ant worked for the NHS Ambulance Service as an Emergency Care Practitioner, as a Community Paramedic, as a Paramedic Team Leader and as an Emergency Medical Paramedic.

Ant has an additional background in Event Medicine, having worked at numerous large events across the UK, with the V Festivals, Download Festival, the Secret Garden Party, Creamfields Festival, the London Olympics, Notting Hill Carnival and many other large scale events in his portfolio. Ant is a CPD writer for the Journal of Paramedic Practice. Ant also authors the international Paramedic Research and Innovation Forum. Ant has worked as a CQC compliance consultant to the NHS and as an Academic Consultant to the NHS and other local universities.

Academically Ant has worked for the University of East Anglia (since 2006) on the Certificate in Emergency Care which led to paramedic registration. In 2014, Ant formed part of the initial team that launched the new BSc (Hons) Paramedic Science Course at Anglia Ruskin. Ant has since then worked with the team on the development of the Diploma in Paramedic Studies as part of the work based programme for the NHS Ambulance Service which launched in 2015. Ant has studied at the University of Hertfordshire, University of East Anglia, Open University, Anglia Ruskin University and the University of Leicester. Ant is a doctoral candidate in Health & Social Care at Anglia Ruskin.
