Nick is a social scientist with interests in the broad areas of labour economics. He finds various combinations of diverse disciplines for a given research problem that might include economics, psychology, and health.

Nick is internationally recognised in the area of labour markets and the theoretical, empirical, and policy implication frameworks of his publications have been utilized from prestigious and influential organisations and institutions, such as UNESCO, OECD, ILO, EC, APA.

Nick's research activity has contributed in several domains in evaluating among others the negative effect of economic crisis on health and mental health, health-impaired employees’ job satisfaction adjustments, the positive effects of assimilation and integration on immigrants’ employment and wages, and negative transmission mechanisms between bullying, human capital, mental health, and labour market outcomes. Also, he is the founding director of the Scientific Centre for the Study of Discrimination in Greece. SCSD is an independent research centre that develops and implements large questionnaire-based data sets and performs social science research regarding labour and population economics.
