Rana’s research focuses on understanding Jordan’s local context from the perspective of the entrepreneur.
It will also examine how the local context is reflected in public training programmes and the tools that have been used to equip entrepreneurs. Jordan is a developing country and has a young population, situated in the midst of a turbulent region. The research will explore Jordanian entrepreneurs’ understanding of their local context and draw out implications for entrepreneurship research and education in general. Rana’s research is supervised by Dr Craig Duckworth.
Rana received her M.A. in Enterprise Management from Durham University and attended the Executive Education Program on Social Entrepreneurship at INSEAD, France. In her last position at the Royal Scientific Society in Jordan, Rana managed a nationwide program to assist families and women in rural areas to start their micro and small businesses in Jordan. She also has extensive working experience with USAID/Jordan.
