Tony’s expertise is in the areas of financial strategy and management, investment appraisal and financing, all aspects of accountancy, performance and budget management, project management, and ethics and governance.
Having qualified as an accountant, Tony served as a project accountant with the MoD, a management accountant in the electronics industry, a chief accountant for a major international company in Zambia, a consultant and operations director for a global commodity trading organisation and a financial and commercial director for publishing company. There followed a move into education and training which has included establishing his own training company before becoming Head of Management Studies at Chelmsford College, then joining the Lord Ashcroft International Business School as a Senior Lecturer.
Principal area of research is into financial literacy in Sub Saharan Africa ranging from investigation into the provision and understanding of governmental finance, identification of the key financial requirements to drive the development of small enterprise and the investigation of the most effective means of delivery of financial literacy into primary education. A further area of research is in respect of the role of and development of a financial services sector in the Russian Federation.
Tony has experience in a range of postgraduate research supervision in the areas such as banking, mobile technology, CSR, finance in football, the Euro in Poland, governmental audit in Russia and many more.
