For the first time ever this provision is open to all students & staff at Anglia Ruskin University. There are two options:

  1. As a credit bearing module: If you are at undergraduate level and your course allows you to substitute one of your modules for a language then you may take a language module. You will be tested at the end of your course and will receive credits. Please note that in order to pass this module there is a 60% attendance requirement.
  2. As an extra stand-alone module: Any student or staff member who wishes to learn a new language or improve on an existing one can take the course. There will be no assessment at the end but if you attend 80% of the classes then you will receive a certificate of attendance stating the level of the class. There will be a discounted fee of £95 per semester for a 10 week course – each week comprises 2 hours tuition – 20 hours overall.

Why learn a language?

  • Employability
  • Improves communication skills
  • Builds confidence
  • Helps intercultural awareness
  • Improves brain functionality
  • Provides a better understanding of your own language
  • It’s fun!

Please note that if there are insufficient enrolments on a module we will not be able to run it but will do our best to place you on another one. Also if there is sufficient demand for a level not offered (advanced) then we will also endeavour to open a new class.
