I am a registered adult and child nurse, I have a recorded teacher qualification and a master’s degree in Child Development.

Background

I have been a senior lecturer since the late 1980’s in a number of institutions across the east of England and have been part of the Anglia Ruskin team since 2001. I am responsible for the management of the child BSc course and am a module leader for the practice module and a dissertation supervisor. I am the admissions tutor for the child nursing course. I am the education link for practice areas in the hospital, acute and independent sectors in the areas around Colchester.

Research interests

  • The link between nursing practice and nursing knowledge
  • The links between students’ understanding of developmental theories and their impact on practice and assessment of need

Teaching

I support students and teach on the RN child nursing program and students undertaking their dissertation as part of the post graduate BSc Child Nursing
