Sarah McGloin's main area of interest is in critical care nursing and education.

Sarah is currently the course leader for the PG Dip Critical Care. Prior to becoming a lecturer she worked in critical care units in the West of England and London, including regional centres for neurosurgery and burns. During this time Sarah developed a keen interest in critical care nursing, ultimately becoming a practice development nurse in critical care.

Her interest in critical care continues and she now lead the Critical Care course at Anglia Ruskin University working with a number of practice partners. Sarah's also an education champion for a local NHS Trust ensuring links between the University and practice are maintained. She's also the tutor for a group of pre-registration nursing students.

Research interests

  • Patient experience of critical care – Sarah's currently a PhD Nursing Candidate at City University, London where she is undertaking a mixed methods research project into the patients experience of intensive care and the role of the intensive care nurse in this experience.
