Pauline Kingston is a senior Registered General Nurse with 35 years experience in acute care, community and higher education. Pauline has had a varied and diverse career working at senior grades in teaching hospitals and community settings in central London, rural Cambridgeshire and the US Air Force.
Clinical experience has involved working independently, leading and managing teams of senior nurses and instrumental in setting up many new and innovative nurse-led services. For the past 18 years Pauline has been actively involved within the Royal College of Nursing to help shape and inform national policy and has 12 years experience in higher education.
Pauline is currently undertaking part-time doctoral studies. Her research focus is Exploring the experiences of newly qualified Registered Nurses working on general medical and surgical wards: Have they been prepared adequately for contemporary nursing practice?
Pauline has extensive experience of teaching and assessing at level 6 (BSc) and level 7 (MSc). Her areas of expertise include management and leadership, medicines management, advanced clinical assessment, care of dying patients and families, symptom management, health promotion, mentorship and clinical supervision.
She is also a personal tutor for Pre-registration nursing - BSc (Registered Nurse) adult branch.
