Kirsty Andrews' clinical area of expertise is neurosurgery and neurology. She has published in medicine management and is Education Champion for Basildon and Thurrock University Hospital.

After completing a Bachelor of Nursing (Hons) degree in Cardiff at UWCM Kirsty qualified as a registered nurse in 1996. She then gained experience in neurosurgery and neurology in Addenbrookes NHS Trust and general medicine in East Kent NHS Trust. Kirsty then worked as a Practice Development Facilitator at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queens Square London and as a Practice Development Sister at Kings College Hospital. She joined London South Bank University as a Lecturer in 2004 and moved to Anglia Ruskin University as a Senior Lecturer in 2009. She has also worked as an external examiner for Bedfordshire University.

During her teaching career Kirsty has taught on the adult branch pre-registration programmes at LSBU and ARU. She has been module leader for a variety of modules including three post registration neurological modules at LSBU and two post-registration modules at ARU (Mentorship Preparation and MSc Nursing Major Project). Kirsty is currently module leader for a pre-registration module: Promoting Health and Wellbeing.
