Background

David qualified as a registered nurse and worked in a range of care settings before specialising in surgery and operating theatre work. David took a joint appointment to manage the post-registration operating theatre course for a number of years and continued to work as a clinical teacher in that environment before taking up full time employment in University based nurse education.

Research interests

  • Assessment in pre-registration nursing
  • Effects of learning disability on clinical nursing practice
