School of Nursing & Midwifery

"Reflecting core NHS values, the university and its training Trusts support students to realise their potential and excel in their clinical practice." -  Anna, BSc (Hons) Midwifery

Having educated nurses and midwives for over 25 years, our goal is to produce competent and caring healthcare professionals that will ultimately improve the patient experience.  Whether you’re looking to gain further qualifications or seek to progress within a different career, our staff will support you every step of the way.

Working in close partnership with the NHS, we ensure your learning experience is as authentic as possible.  Both our undergraduate and postgraduate courses run hand in hand with our clinical facilities to reflect the need for modern practice in the rapidly changing healthcare field.  You’ll develop hands-on experience alongside our friendly and well-qualified staff in an active learning environment; both in our simulated skills laboratories that mirror real-life UK hospital wards and throughout your time on placement.

You’ll study in a creative and energetic environment, where compassion lies at the heart. We’re the only university in the east of England to be fully accredited with the Baby Friendly Certificate of Commitment, ensuring that our graduates meet the greatest level of training in infant feeding set by UNICEF and the World Health Organization.

In 2014 we also achieved the best possible ratings from the Nursing and Midwifery Council, emphasising our passion to produce talented and professional nurses and midwives.
