World town planning day, RTPI and ARU

This special day is celebrated in 30 countries on four continents. It recognises the planning role in creating livable communities, and how it impacts many aspects of our daily life. An excellent look at planning from both local - and global perspectives. Our sustainability challenges in Chelmsford are also shared by cities in the UK and in other countries. What lessons can we learn from them – and they from us? Through online Webinars and Local, face-to-face workshops, various practical actions for Engaging, Collaborative, Innovative and Creative solutions to city issues are explored, e.g. Local Food, Transition Towns (Sustainable Energy and Housing for all, including Gypsies/ travellers) and Neighbourhood Planning. Including a talk by Prof Tony Hall on the Robust City.

The event is part of Chelmsford Ideas Festival.
