World town planning day, RTPI and ARU

This special day is celebrated in 30 countries on 4 continents. It recognises the planning role in creating livable communities, and how it impacts many aspects of our daily life. An excellent look at planning from both local - and global perspectives. Our sustainability challenges in Chelmsford are also shared by cities in the UK and in other countries. What lessons can we learn from them – and they from us? Through online Webinars and Local, face-to-face workshops, various practical actions for Engaging, Collaborative, Innovative and Creative solutions to city issues are explored, e.g. Local Food, Transition Towns (Sustainable Energy and Housing for all, including Gypsies/ travellers) and Neighbourhood Planning. Including a talk by Prof Tony Hall on the Robust City.

The event is part of Chelmsford Ideas Festival.
