Dimension Leap is a body of work which comprises images related to nano technology, scientific research and human perception. These photographic works are the result of a collaboration, ‘NanoCollaboration’, between artist Marina Velez and scientists Priti Gupta, Giorgio Divitini and Joshua Lewis.
The collection of photographs show a conversation between images of remote places in the universe and remote spaces in the cosmos at nano scale. The macro and the micro engage in a dialogue which speaks of nature’s wonders. This dialogue is overseen by the shared curiosity of the scientific and artistic mind.
This collaboration is cross-disciplinary as well as multicultural since four different nationalities are represented in the team.
NanoCollaborative was created as a result of an intellectual and creative adventure organised by the nano department at Cambridge University back in 2015 and resulted in collaborations, works and presentations for Cambridge Festival of Ideas 2015 under the larger group Nano^Art. Since then, the group has exhibited works for the inauguration of the Maxwell Centre co-organised with Kettle’s Yard. https://nanocollaborative.wordpress.com
Dimension Leap is presented with Anglia Ruskin University.
The event is part of Cambridge Festival of Ideas.
