Interested in taking part in a creative challenge at Anglia Ruskin University, guaranteed to give you real life experience? Want to gain new skills and develop your competencies in entrepreneurship, innovation and creative practice?
Design Make Sell is a unique program brought to you by the National Association of College and University Entrepreneurs (NACUE), Anglia Ruskin University and your very own Student Enterprise Society throughout autumn 2016. You are invited to join us as we turn an idea into reality in just a matter of weeks.
Generate new ideas, learn to understand your customer and perfect your pitch during interactive workshops, delivered by industry experts. Develop your designs into a real product and gain practical experience as you sell to real customers.
We're looking for students with energy, drive and competitive flare that are ready to work collaboratively and build upon their enterprising skills. Is that you? This is a one-off opportunity and spaces are limited so apply quickly to avoid disappointment. Visit our booking page to sign up.
29 & 30 October 2016 - All day boot camp run by NACUE (compulsory)
3 December 2016 - Selling day (compulsory)
Each team will be given a brief. Over 24 hours they will brainstorm, research and pitch their concepts. Successful teams will get the opportunity to take their designs to the next level with seed funding from the university to purchase your well needed materials to turn your concept to reality. They will then have 4 weeks to manufacture their products and sell them a local market of their choice, either Cambridge or Chelmsford. Winners take all!
The theme will be announced at the weekend Bootcamp. Here's a tip - think seasonal.
Absolutely nothing - we’re asking for everyone to pay a £25 deposit which is refundable upon attendance. Deposits will be refundable upon attendance throughout the course of the weekend. Please note, deposits will only be kept if students are absent without 48hours notice. We will also reimburse you for your travel to the bootcamp.
We have sourced a number of market stalls in both Cambridge & Chelmsford on Saturday 5 December 2016. You will have to pitch for your stall preference on Sunday 30 October 2016.
The university will give a ‘loan’ to each participating team (amount to be confirmed on Sunday 30 October) - you will make profit once you’ve broken even. You DO NOT have to spend the whole budget, for example, you could only spend £60 which means if you sell £300 worth of products, you will keep £240 profit.
