I’m Inez, First Year Rep of the shiny brand new course, Business and Human Resource Management. It’s a great combination of business studies and recruitment. How could you pick the right person if you are not sure what the business needs? Here comes the solution from Anglia Ruskin University, an up-to-date, fresh combination of knowledge, that makes you enter the job market with confidence.

I felt really excited in the first week, as I heard about loads of opportunities such as placement years, Erasmus and exchange studies with universities in Canada, France and the USA.

The classrooms have modern technical facilities, and tutors let us call them by their first names, so I feel more at ease to ask them questions about our studies. How fantastic is this to ask your teacher, ‘Tom, can you explain this situation again?’ (and not, with a shaking voice, asking for a bit of attention from Mr Payne)?

The whole building gives you the feeling that is a good place to come and study; also if you need help, there is always somebody to turn to.

For IT problems, there is a specialised group who sort out any technical difficulties for you in the first weeks and keep checking up on you, so in the future you know you can count on them.

Later on, Study Skills Plus helps you with assignments and shows you some awesome research techniques and web pages such as Mintel or Fame that can be supporting evidence for your course work.

And the library is just a nest of peace and ultimate knowledge. The staff are always there to help, you can even book an appointment with a librarian, and it’s easy to keep track of your account online. You can get books which are not on the shelf by ordering them, as Anglia Ruskin is in a network with other libraries in the UK.

Already eight weeks have gone and I’m still finding out more about the opportunities that Anglia Ruskin offers – like the colourful student life provided by the Students’ Union (parties, social events); and the system of Student Representatives who help to create a more lovable environment for students by collecting their feedback, and presenting ideas in group meetings to leaders. And I almost forgot about societies. We have so many choices: Law, Business, even Harry Potter.

If you stay with me, I’m going to introduce the life at Anglia Ruskin’s Cambridge campus from week to week: feel the excitement, possibilities and excitement from a student’s view!
