Luciano Berio – Laborintus 2

To celebrate the 750th anniversary of the birth of the great Italian poet Dante Alighieri, Anglia Sinfonia present a multi-media presentation of Laborintus 2, by the Italian twentieth-century composer, Luciano Berio. Written in 1965 to commemorate the 700th anniversary of the birth Dante, Laborintus 2, a masterpiece of contemporary music, presents a kaleidoscopic amalgamation of poetry, vocalisation, music and electronic sounds, drawing on themes from Dante’s La Vita Nuova (The New Life) and The Inferno. In this special presentation, the audience will be invited to enter an immersive audiovisual environment, including a specially-commissioned projected-image work.
